Hey guys, looks like HIDs are pretty much an impossibility these days on the stilo unless you're willing to fork out some serious time and money on a self-levelling system and washers blablabla. So, i was thinking how about buying some aftermarket angel eyes for a different car (like a punto) and then cutting out reflectors in stock lights and doing a transplant? Sounds like a very doable project and i would prefer projectors even if i dont get xenons!

So, my question is which car's headlights (any model) is most similar in shape to the stilo's so that when i transplant the projectors...it doesn't look weird. I was thinking along the lines of mk1 punto...any other ideas?

Thanks
HH

Check out Nikos_Gr's thread as his Stilo has MK2 Punto angel eyes on his, he didn't modify the unit - just had to put new mount holes in and do a bit of body filler around the edges to make it look good. They are smaller than the Stilo headlight unit so that's how it needs filling.

I don't know about spitting the lenses on each and making a hybrid  Might well work with Stilo lens/mk2 punto lights, but the latter might be smaller than the lens.

A Stilo with angel eyes will look sick on the right car, hope you find this helpfull and good luck on your conversion!

I have seen his monster of a car. Although the lights look very good, I am a bit of a perfectionist and it bothers me that they dont look quite right. I want to keep the original stilo headlight housing and just cut some holes for a projector swap. Just want to find the right angel eyes to do it with.

Thanks

The MK2 Punto units are your best bet (y)

I'm in the process of making a set of Xenon angel eye headlights from OEM Stilo headlights. I've made one so so far, but I'm not happy with it, so I've a bit more tinkering to do.

That looks sweet Owen, is your car a 3 or 5 door? if it's a 5 door and you don't like them, then i'll buy them off you and give you my lights

The stilo lights are quite big (i.e. the housing is big) compared to the mk2 punto. So how about bmw angel eyes? I have always liked the look of those

Thanks

Judging by front bumper style its 5doors, and i love your work so far!!!

Preatty please, start a blog or something about this project, and log step by step, becouse i could "kill" for angel eyes on my stilo! :)

Keep it up, and gl :)

Hi people,

I didn't use projectors. I just used a set of Stilo OEM Xenon headlights. All I've done is split the headlights, lamin-x the lenses and then fit Daytime running LED Halo rings. After fitting them, I realised the little and big rings were a different shade of white, so I want to sort that out.

I'm also fitting stobe lights and looking into fitting some BMW Bi-Xenon projectors I've had in the shed for yonks. I'll let you know how it all goes! At the moment It's kinda taken a back seat while I work on getting my other Stilo an engine :)

This sounds interesting, whats bi-xenons? Is it something like regular xenons, which requires headlamp washers to be road legal?
