GOOD NEWS! It turned out to a broken pin in the gearbox. That means nothing to me but Im assuming some of you will know what it means lol. No parts needed. £220 labour as the whole gearbox had to come out but still, we were looking at a much higher bill :)

My Master Cylinder went about a year ago, and the clutch wouldn't come back up. I paid £480 to have the clutch, flywheel and cylinder changed. Apparently it's an engine out job, hence the high cost in labour!

Good to know it's not that! If he could stretch to the cost, it would probably make sense to get the clutch changed while he's taking the box off. Saves labour or breakdowns in the future :)

Owen.

Thats what we thought we were looking at then the mechanic called today and said the clutch has at least 2 years left - maybe three and everything was fine. But that car in question hasnt reached 40,000 miles yet. MY CAR on the other hand is a different story.

A Broken pin in your gearbox caused your clutch pedal to stick to the floor.... we'll i've heard it all now. Still if its fixed now thats all that maters...... now don't ride your clutch or hang onto the gearstick when driving.

He doesnt ride the clutch or hold the gearstick - those are my bad habits:eek:
