Hello. Have now had stilo for 2 weeks and I'm loving it. I had a alfa 156 2.5 V6 before and this so much quicker. I just have a few questions.

1. I've read that when cold the gear change is a bit lumpy which i would definately agree with. But when giving it the beans the gear change is really harsh even when car has been running for a while. Is this normal?
2. Where is the best place for up to date sat nav discs?
3. Any suggestions as to why the CD player is skipping any quick fix's? Not to worried as probably getting a cable for iphone.
4. How do i stop my fiance from driving it??? :D

Sorry can only offer an answer to Q1. Yes, the Abarth box is a little stiff when cold, but changes should smooth out when warmed through. I once had an Alfa GTV6 and you could forget about even trying to select second gear until the engine was warm!

Worth checking the routing and lubrication of the gear selector cables, and maybe it's time for a gearbox oil change?

Welcome to FF buddy!

what exactly do you mean by harsh? difficult to select gears or jerky when you let the clutch out? the clutch could just want bleeding. but as Yellow Peril says a box oil change probably wouldn't go a miss.

if not you'll have to go to NAVTEQ £140 though for the 2010/2011 UK Map

also just for your reference take a look in the stilo 'guides' section i think on the last page there is some info about the CN+

dirty laser... ive fixed numerous ones by giving it a drop of whiskey on a cotton bud although meths works well too... involves stripping down the unit though... i dont recommend generic CD cleaners of any description especially with front feed devices.

dont insure her on it and guard the keys with your life! if they fail it maybe time to look into a new patio ;)

Thanks for the replys. The gear change is when accelerating i'm guessing it's the way it is because you dont take your foot off the accelerator?? Don't think there are cables for gear change as it's selespeed?? Possibly changing the selespeed fluid??? Does this need to go to fiat???
Got a 11/12 map cd coming for £40 hopefully it works will see. Is it not a good idea to use these cleaning cd's for the lens that i've seen on ebay?

As for the girlfriend the patio could be the answer she loves the fact he doesn't have to change gear.:bang:

From another thread I read a while back people were talking about how to drive the selespeed properly and it was something along the lines of not keeping your foot in the same position when it changes gear - you kind of lift off and smoothly apply the gas pedal as it changes? Just from memory, not from experience :p

Does your selespeed pump do anything like this?
