Firstly, hello!

This is my first post here and I'm new to the stilo as well. It's not actually my car, it's the inlaws. It might as well be mine!

So, as the title says, it's got the airbag failure warning. I read the faults from the ECU using a modified KKL/VagCom cable and FES. There are loads of faults!!

Firstly there was the usual passenger seat fault, I've already fitted an emulator to get round that.

My problem is that I cannot clear any of the faults with FES as one of them says it's still present.

It says: 01 - Control Unit Fault - Unknown/Internal error - 73

Anyone seen this before?

I had what appears to be the exact same fault as you have and after cutting off and hard-wiring by soldering all the connectors it was still there so I bought a secondhand airbag ECU and after clearing the faults on it -

Hey presto, no more red light!

p.s. I did change my original ECU with a known working unit before buying.

I kinda thought it was gonna be a new ECU! Ah well. There are new ones on eBay at the mo for £100. Is it worth getting one from a scrappy?

Thanks, I had a look on their site. They look pretty expensive! It seems the car has a stack of electrical problems so im going to clean up all the earth points first. It may just be those!
