P0101 - air flow meter signal
P0111 - intake air temp. (2)
P0045 - turbo actuator command

Hi there people, im having trouble with my car. It has high fuel consuption and loss of power. I decided to disconnect the Air Mass flow sensor to see it would make it any better. there was no difference to the power, but the MPG went down by about 10mpg. After i connected it again these were the codes that came up,
P0101 - air flow meter signal
P0111 - intake air temp. (2)
P0045 - turbo actuator command.

i decided to clear the codes with fiatecuscan, went for a round trip of 200 miles and the codes havent come back up. so shall i actually buy a new MAF sensor?
also i have changed the egr valve, new oil filter, new fuel filter, new air filter, and changed the oil.

can someone tell me what can be causing my loss of power, what i can do to fix the codes and what they actually mean? iev got an appointment booked with fiat on thursday, but wanna see if i can fix it before then.

stilo 1.9 mjet 120

thank you very much.

Could be the wastegate stuck open stopping the turbo working if disconnecting the maf didn't work. High fuel consumption can be numerous different things but binding brakes (do a free wheel test) and a knackered exhaust can seriously affect it. Forum members on here should give you more info on the fault codes than I can but a good visual and sound inspection may reveal the problem.

thanks fo the reply

i have done the free wheeling, and everthing is fine. i had a service done a week ago, and the exhaust was fine.
is the wastegate something that looks like a flap? its sort of on the right side of the engine as youre looking down at it, and you have to open a tube to get to it? sorry i dont know any technical names lol. im saying that becasue my friend whos a mechanic, checked that out for me couple of days ago, and he said that in most cars that (flap) stayed down, and then as i accelerate it open up. but he wasnt sure how it worked on a stilo?
thanks

JTD engine doesn't have a wastegate. It's a variable geometry turbo.

P0045 = Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit/Open

The boost control solenoid is hidden below the left headlamp, if it hasn't been moved to it's modified position on the side of the battery tray.

Check for water corrosion in the electrical connector. (that's why it was moved from below the headlamp)
