Hello

Last year I had a preheat fault fixed, it had a new wiring harness from the black control/relay box to each glow plug. However since then it has come back but only twice. It did it again today (2nd time) but when I've used the car again its 'check ok'. Even though i've had a new wiring loom could there be a loose connection? Could the black control/relay thingy box be at fault? I'm guessing its not the glow plugs as its only happened twice in a year and then checks ok on next subsequent start ups.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Phil

erm, glowplug failure?
Ive had 3 go in a short space of time and replaced all four, when they go fuel consumption seems to be strangly affected (must be to do with the map or something with the ecu as mechanically it doesnt make sence).
there is a guide in the guide area that shows you how to check them with a multimeter, find the duff one and change it, the choice is yours if you do the lot. some people recomend leaving working ones - i personally wont now as if one goes the others seem to follow a few month later on my car.

Thanks for your reply.

Could it be a faulty glow plug even if it doesn't happen on every start up? It did it again twice this morning but on the first start up, just when I turned the key I had a 'loose connection' error. Could it be possible that the battery is on its way out? I've read other posts about low batteries and bringing up faults.
