I have just bought a Fiat interface f super....which is a usefull prop for a star wars film, but as far as I can make out, has no other use, whatsoever.

It's supposed to run Fiat finalist 1.1 but it has no software with it.

Please, please please can someone tell me what to do with this useless piece of expletive deleted.

Many thanks, Onebdi

There was a post on the FiatECUScan forum about this interface, unfortunately it would seem it uses the incorrect pins to connect to a Fiat correctly.
http://forum.fiatecuscan.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3179

Fiat use pins 1, 3, 7 and 9
The F-Super interface according to the above link uses 1, 3, 4 and 5

Plus I read somewhere that Fiat Finalist v1.1 will only work with Fiat Finalist interface based on processor chip 90c2600

You could try resoldering the pins and searchng for a free version of Fiat finalist?

Okay, let's rephrase this. Can someone tell me where to get a simple thing that plugs into the socket above the fuses and them lets me reset the service due warning?

Thanks.

1. You'll need to purchase the "Registered" version of FES(http://www.fiatecuscan.net).

2. You'll need an Elm327 interface(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-DIAGNOSTIC-CODE-READER-ELM-327-USB-1-4-OBD2-ii-CAN-/140443132982) that can connect to the Body ECU of your car. This is usually done using adapters(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIATECUSCAN-DIAGNOSTIC-ADAPTOR-SET-SRS-ABS-CAN-LEADS-/360384288479) and/or a modified ELM327 interface(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MODIFIED-...-LEAD-CABLE-FIATECUSCAN-CAN-ECU-/251036452268).

Let us know how things go.

Thanks for the info. The Interface F super is being sent back with a snotty letter. It appears to be a ford scanner that has been made to look as if it can use fiatfinalist.....but it can't. I'm a simple soul and all I want to do is stop the dashboard nagging at me!

I will invest in the elm thingy whatsit.

Thanks, again.

Does it need to be the registered version? I have the free one and the vagcom cable for the ecu. Was going to buy the elm for the service reset, but not if I have to pay for ecuscan too.

the latest free FES will reset service warning iirc... Best way to find out is download it and see If the service indicator option under body computer is red or blue... Red is registered version only options

I've had the registered version for a while now so there's been quite a few updates since I purchased it. I'm sure the free version back then did allow the service reset but I think that has now changed with recent updates but I'm not 100% sure. Perhaps someone with the free version of FES and an ELM cable could try it and let us know?

Edit. TangerineTractor
Check out the screen shots I just attached. Service reset requires connecting to the Body Computer, sorry to be the bringer of bad news ..

Yeh, thats a little confusing as it must connect to the Body Computer to access the "Service Interval Reset".

I'm sure it used to be available with the free version and hope for TangerineTractor sake it still is.

I use an old XP laptop for remapping I'll install the free version of FES on it later and give the "Service Interval Reset" a try.

Would be appreciated, thanks.

I have downloaded the free FES, but of course I will have to wait for my ELM as my FiatStupidFInterface is about as much use as chocolate fireguard! To be fair to FES, the registered version is only 50 euros, which isn't the end of the world compared to the prices that some bloodsucking, soul-destroying, money-grabbing, rage-inducing, garages charge. (I used to work for VAG; I'm allowed to make these seemingly outrageous, but ultimately, understandable statements) Anyway...I bought new brake pads and a couple of glow-plugs today and they were considerably cheaper that the ones for my old Mitsubishi, so I don't feel so bad about sending it to the scrapyard anymore.

FES (getting back on topic) seems really easy to use (is it?) I wondered if it was worth keeping the Fiatfinalist program, I downloaded, as I suspect it will now be redundant (along with the people who make FartStupidInterference, with a bit of luck)

Ok guys, sorry about the delay, ain't been feeling too good the last few days, swallowed a lot of beer and dirty river water last weekend, don't ask.

Anyway I eventually downloaded, installed and configured FES on my remaping laptop then dragged my sorry ass out into the cold wind and rain and made this video of me doing a service reset on the missus's Alfa using the free version of FES.

Question:
Can you do a "Service Reset" using the free version of FiatECUScan?

Answer:
No

Nooooooooooo......I wanted to hear that I could do all sorts of stuff for free!!!!!

Fine, I'll spend some money...but I'm not giving up beer. The landlord will just have to whistle for his rent this month!

I don't suppose anyone has a load of expensive diagnostic equipment that they feel like giving me....for nothing.....?
