Air intake JTD Please Help :)

Hi there,
This is my first post so my apologies if it isn't very clear.
I have been giving my Stilo JTD (02) a quick service and I noticed that there was a pipe not connected to anything. I have had a look on elearn and it is not numbered.
The pipe connects to the "3. corrugated hose" between the air box and the turbo. This pipe comes from there and is currently not connected to anything. For now I have blanked off the pipe as it can't be very good to have an unfiltered feed going to the turbo.
Please could you tell me where and what this is meant to me connected too? or take a photo of yours so I can see.
Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the Forum as always ;)

By where you took picture 2 from, there should be one of these small oil trap boxes attached to the underneath of your JTD air intake box.

From the pic you posted, have a look again underneath the car by where the arrow is pointing in the pic below, the pipe in the picture is for me 99% identical to the the oil trap box pipe which feeds down from the air intake pipe that links the air intake box to the turbo as shown in your pic 1. It has been know for these to come off or get "broken off", the silly design of these "oil trap boxes" meant that the oil which drips down from the breather pipes, would simply run down the oil trap pipe and remain in this tiny box with no where to go. You have done the right thing in simply blocking the pipe, not sure what to suggest, you can always find an oil catch box from a scrappy, fit to the underneath of the air box and provide the pipe with a new home that it should have, or simply leave it blocked and from time to time re open the pipe to pump any excess oil that may be contained.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the quick help :)
I think I will leave it blanked off until I have time to go down to the scrappy then.
Thanks,
Paddy

When my oil trap box fell off & I didnt know what it was, my AA man rigged up an old plastic bottle with cable ties to do the job. Its been on there for the past 5k miles.
