Hi All,

I am looking at a 2002 Stilo 1.6 with 88k miles on it at the moment.

Looking for some advice, guy selling it says it sailed through NCT in January and it has not given him any trouble in the 2 years he has it.

What are they like:

Are they ok on Fuel?
Do they have ISOFIX?
Are they reliable being the older 1.6 Engine?

Thanks for looking.

what model?,
we have a 1.6 mw and its around 29mpg - my wife never uses it for long distances so we cant really get a good judgement on fuel consumption.
my old 1.6 5dr used to get around 40-44 on average - but my style of driving is completly different to my wifes, and hers is a multiwagon (heavier car)/

Its an Active 16V 1.6? We have a 2001 1.2 Fiat Bravo at the moment so I assume it would be heavier on juice than that ?

lol, what version, 5dr or 3dr, the multiwagon was introduced until 2003 so ive omitted that one.

the stilo is a heavy car in comparison, but you have a more powerful engine so wont be reving as hard to get to speed, also it will be lower revs at cruise speed, so the fuel consumption would be a bit difficult to compare.

there is a good thread to check on here on things to look out for on the stilo, airbags being one of them (now an mot failure), front springs, rear bushes, gearboxes to name a few - probo no more than any other car if im honist.

a well maintained stilo is a joy, but a neglected one will have you pulling your hair out in no time. ive had both!!!

sorry mate, im was sure all of the cars had isofix it must be only 5dr and mws then, every one we have owned have had it.
we hated isofix, we have had 3 kids (twins) since we bought the stilo, we used isofix once and then took the seat back, i wasnt happy with the connection and didnt feel safe with it (i know it is suppose to be safe but it didnt to me). I ended up using the seatbelt as well defeating the object of the system.
