Hi guys,

Just on and after some help already (n)

The story:

My wee brother bought this wee Stilo Multiwagon 1.9 JTD (it's a 53 plate) and has been a good wee car.

He fitted an after market CD player but instead of running an ignition feed he joined the ignition feed with the permanent live (I KNOW!!) this resulted in a dead battery every night so he was using a land rover battery every morning to jump it.

Knowing I was taking the car I wanted the wee bits sorted which was a duff battery and the glow plug on cylinder 1 needs changing, I fault found this with the method on here as the pre heat fault was flagging up.

Yesterday I grabbed a battery from a scrappy but i suspect it was from a petrol car, however it was the biggest one they had, the battery is about 1.5 inches short in the tray.

Fitted the new battery and yesterday after a run to charge it, was starting the car fine, however, this morning it hardly turned the car over :bang:

Nothing was left on in the car so why would it be flattening the battery?

Could the open circuit shown on the glow plug in cylinder 1 be contributing to this?

Are there any common areas that develop a poor earth?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Chris

you need to get a decent battery, or get the one you have 'load' tested. I suspect as it came from a scrap yard it would be suspect anyway.
