hi
tried the wiggling ad spraying of contact cleaner on all the connections for the airbag today but the airbag stop engine light is still on
i was wondering,if there a test you can do to see if it is the occupancy sensor before i pay £40 for one on ebay

Reading the fault codes will indicate which airbag or sensor is at fault.

You can do it yourself with FiatECUScan software, an appropriate connecting lead and a laptop. Or get a garage to read the codes for you.

ah ok.i only got the car a few days ago so don't have the software etc
probably cheaper to buy the emulater than take it to a garage

would i have to take it to a fiat garage or could i take it to my local one,as i suspect fiat would want o fix the problem as well

SRS is 'usually' a dealer thing although independent specialists and some garages are able to read the codes.

Code 32 is the fatal one for OCS and will require an emulator or new mat

fiat will want to repair it, as any garage would, but if you request just diagnostics then thats all they will do! a rough price would be around £70 per session for diagnostics... bear in mind that FES and the required leads will only be about £50 and you can use it for all the diagnostics work you will be doing with the stilo

and are they difficult to use as i can just about switch the computer on and type with one finger
