Well i tried changing my discs and pads today but was abit of a disaster. I could not get the disc off at all i beat the life out of it but it would not budge. I ended up putting it back together again and had another disaster. I over torqued 1 of the small bolts that hold the caliper to the caliper carrier and it sheared but all of it fell out luckily.

The rear pad set i bought came with bolts but he front pad set didnt. The bolts that came with the rear pads look almost identicle to the one i sheared altho the thread is not as pronounced. Is it safe to use this bolt if it fits at least until i can get a proper replacements. Where do i get proper replacements id like to replace the big hefty bolts aswell as they are a bit worn looking. Would halfords do any as it would be open tomorrow?

The bolts that came with the rear pads fitted the front caliper ok so at least i can get it to a garage now. I reckon there gonna have to heat the disc and use a press to get it off.

Are you sure there is a retaining bolt holding the disc to the hub or am I being a complete idiot?

What pins, do mean the two grub screws? Arnt they only attached to the disc?

Please take the car to a garage to get it sorted if you intend to drive it on public roads. You really shouldn't be working on brakes/steering/suspension unless you know what you are doing...

If the disc hadn't been rusted on i would have been fine. For your information I did research this first through guides posted here and also on elearn. It is going to a garage tho as I do not have the equipment to get the disc off. I also would not drive the car if it was unsafe as I wouldn't put myself, passengers or other road users in danger.

Please feel free to add to this topic if you actually have something useful to contribute.

You are right jerone the pins go through the disc and screw into the hub so that the holes line up I needed long socket for them but didn't have 1. I thot they only were screwed to the disc to help get the wheel on. Gonna let the garage sort it anyways save me buying more tools. Thanks
