id expect MAP to throw a fault if it was dickie... you done the obligatory throttle clean, throttle relearn and map relearn??

we'll start with the easy things first but dont expect it not to be the timing out slightly.

when i got the car last year it had a second hand engineput in it and the car it self had done 135000 miles so i thought maybe its a bit worn out coz all of the running was ive put all new running gear on itengine is in good con so i thought it could only be one of two things in my mind throttle pedol or houseing what do you think i am going to try to get it over to shadey if i can this week seeif he can put it on is computer

I think that MAP sensor after years of exploatation can get a sort of "bias", and it would not give exact pressure measurements. I beleive that is happening with my car, but it's not making troubles. To be sure, it can be checked with vacuum pressure gauge, but this also has it's price. If it doesn't throw any codes it is obviously within the range of "good work".

For the pedal, you can check it's output. Also, you can check throttle body signal output, as this is common problem for 1.6.
