Afternoon fellas.

Need some advice

Got a 03stilo 1.6 62k miles..only within the last month When driving the car engine will suddenly cut out, no prior warning but it will start up and drive off straight away."loose connection engine fault " "alternator failure " are the messages on the dash..

Im not that technical or good will cars - so it was taken to my local independant garage they said an "extensive thorough search" was carried out and the brake light switch was faulty so that was changed (just wanted to say that got rid of the airbag warning failure message which i was driving with past year or so)

But only a few days after it happened again a few times in one day it was taken back to the garage who said that they couldnt find any fault from the ecu and there was nothing they can do but advised if it gets worse hopefully the ecu should pick something up..:bang:Its not ideal cutting out randomly in the worst possible scenarios..(happened again today)

just to say This year i have changed the cambelt water pump washer motor & before the brake light switch was changed the car shut down once or twice due to few to low idle rpm below 5000 at the lights i noticed the change in rpm after coming off a high pavement curb i think it hit something underneath the car But now its between 6000and 9000rpm when in idle is this normal or should it stay still.? problem has only occured since changingthe cambelt:confused:

Anyway question is what do you suggest i do now? I have read most of the threads on the forum nothing recent re this issue loads of advice which im not confident to undertake myself but never any solutions to the cause..HELP

this is 99% sure a ecu problem - as it suddenly stops working it can't store any fault codes i had the same problem with my ecu and helped other forum members with similar problems.
I can help you with a virginised IAW5NFT1 or T9 ecu - just send me a PM if you are interested.

Pm sent..what does this involve then? Please dont say the ecu needs changing? Try not to be very techincal too haha..thanks for offering help means alot.

yes, i'm afraid you will have to change your ecu - these symptoms are very common when it's on it's way out.....
No need for much technical talk - the ecu i offer is flug & play, you can replace it yourself quite easily .
PM sent for further details....
