Hey,

Ive just noticed one of my front springs appears to be more compressed than the other, i've counted the coils and am pretty sure there are 5 coils on each however i can fit two fingers between the gap on the left side where as only one and a bit on the right side.

my car has done 104k miles and i've done 45k of them and never change the coils or dampers, would it be a wise move to get them all changed?

Definately get them both changed.

Its more common than you think to see half of the bottom coil snapped off(about 6 inches long).

yep, get them changed, if doing it yourself use the long spring clamps, the short ones are only good enough for removing but not compressing the new ones enough!! I done mine at the weekend (jtd)

always fun when you hear a rattling, reach in and pull out a big chunk of coil spring..

or lean on the car after its been parked up in a freezing cold workshop for the spring to snap just then
