Hello people, I have a Fiat Stilo JTD 1.9 Multijet 120. The engine is on constantly, it will not come off. I have taken it to a local garage, the code that came up was "undocumented". The mechanic told me that he would have to look at various different things that could be wrong with car wich would cost me a lot of money, and that my best bet was to take it to a Fiat garage as they would know exactly what was wrong with it, which would save some money. Shall I go ahead and take it to a Fiat Garage?

Also after a couple of weeks of having the light on, the Spark Plugs light comes on when i first start the car and the warning message comes up but after i start the car, it goes away. do i need to change them?

ive recently noticed that it has started to have less power when pulling off. It will only pick up the speed once the revs are close to 2000rpm and i really have to put my foot down to the floor, whereas before i could feel it pulling as soon as i put my food down. what could this be down to?

Lastly, the car is wasting a lot of diesel in my opinion, when i am stationary it the range on the trip computer will go down a mile more or less every minute. and the other day i filled up the tank with £60 worth of diesel and it only lasted for 375 miles which were mainly done round town. any reason for this?
thanks

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Do you mean the engine is constantly running and won't switch off? or the code is constantly showing?

What was the code?

What warning message is coming up?

Get the error codes read properly before making a decision that will cost money.

If your near Wolverhampton I'll read the error codes for you.

Hi, Welcome to the FF.
The message that's coming up is undocumented code, and the warning message that comes up on the dashboard is check spark plugs

You have a 1.9 JTD(Diesel).

Hello people, I have a Fiat Stilo JTD 1.9 Multijet 120

Diesels don't have spark plugs ..

Get the error codes read again, a second opinion, because somethings not right.

EGR Valve Faulty On 1.9 JTD - suggestions needed

Hi, took the car to a local garage today as the engine light as been on for a few weeks. The mechanic told me that the code which came up was a faulty egr valve. He told me he could get cleaned/fix it for £80, as a new one would cost me around £160 plus labour.
What I would like to know is what option should I go for, and if I need to buy a new one could someone please try to get me a cheap on, like an internet where I could buy one. I am a student and don't have a lot of money spare :(. I have a stilo 1.9 jtd multijet

Thanks

re: EGR Valve Faulty On 1.9 JTD - suggestions needed

try the likes of ebay, search astra vectra stuff for cdti egr valve and compare part number to yours im assuming its 120hp multijet? could be same as this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb98ed91d
if its the 16v 150hp multijet it could be
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ebc0c7029

they have a reg check perhaps they can cross referance part numbers?i have a vauxhall bought 16v egr valve on mine now.cant comment on 120hp model though.

Why not do it yourself, its not difficult.

Hi, I would do it, but I don't understand anything about mechanincs. I don't even know what the EGR valve actually is/does or where its located, and I don't have the tools

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes it is a 120 multijet, how do I know what my reg number is?

You weren't joking when you said you don't know anything about mechanics, sound like you don't know much about cars in general. :p

reg number = the letters and numbers on your number plate

Nope I weren't joking at all lol, I just know how to drive them.
I thought u meant like a reg number on the actual valve itself lol.
But I still don't get how I can find out whether it will fit mine. I went on the 120hp you sent me, and asked the seller if it will fit my car.
How much should I expect to pay a mechanic to fit it to my car if I supply the valve myself?
