(G) Dashboard Colour Screen?

I've been and had a look at an 02 Selespeed and test drove an 04 Selespeed yesterday and the 02 has a funky colour screen in the dash between the clocks and the 04 hasnt?! Anybody know why this has changed or if the colour screen is an option?

I'm afraid that was dropped from the 04 models and is no longer available. But you do get a far more reliable car from the 04 improvements which kinda makes up for it

I suppose that makes up for it then! It was just funky having that colour screen in the dash.

After driving it, I'm totally hooked. They are saying is gonna take probably 3 - 4 months to get my car though.... Not good!

12-16 weeks Why such a long wait ?

They claim that when Fiat do a build, they dont just do 1 Selespeed, they wait for say 40 to be ordered and then run a job lot! Great eh.... I want it NOW

Thats crazy, I had mine made to order and got it in about 8 or so weeks, can't remember for sure as i tried to put it out of my mind untill it was closer to the time. Maybe myself, and a lot of others, just got lucky with the timing, thats gonna be a long wait mate.
They will release the new Stilo by the time you get it well almost

When is the new Stilo due then? Is it worth buying this one now when a new one is on the way?

Well according to the report in the car magazine it's 2006, so I would imagine around April next year, but if you have to wait till possibly September before you get yours, then it may be worth holding on ?
I know for sure what i would do because personaly I would hate to buy a brand new motor only for it to be superceded within seven months of taking delivery..
I'm not trying to put you off here, as far as i know the release date for the next car is not set in stone ( please correct me if i'm wrong someone ).. Also next April is a long way off from now if you are gonna wait, but not so far off if it's from september.. Difficult choice i think..

If i were you i'd just get it now. The new Stilo MIGHT come out in April but release dates are usually quite a bit off. Also, if u ask for the new Stilo as soon as it comes out it will take at least another 3 or 4 months to get it at best.

My Stilo also took 3 months to be brought over (and that's living in Spain, right next to Italy) but they told me the same thing, they had to wait for the right moment to stick it into the production line, from the time they actually started to build it till it got the Barcelona's harbour only a couple of weeks passed!!

Also, i must add that the colour screen hansn't been dropped on the Abarth Selespeed in Spain, at least it was still there in november 2004 when i bought my Stilo.

He does not mean the colour 7" display in the centre console, if thats what your talking about ? There's a small multifunction display in the middle of the speedo and rev counter thats been dropped, here at least.
The 7 inch colour screen on the selespeed still exists.. I think Stu may have posted a picture before on the MFD.

No, no, i meant the liitle screen between the speedos. The one that apearars constantly in the Fiat manual as if it was teasing all the rest of us that can't have one . i'm quite sure it hasn't been dropped here....... yet

Hi mate did manage to get your white dials in the end?

Not yet m8, i'm still planning on getting them though, I think they'll make a great difference to the interior, especially from the drivers point of view.
