Anyone pls help how can i fix my connect nav + pls :cry:

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Did you try pressing buttons 4 then 5 then 6 then 7 then TEL when the flashing process stopped?

To remove a stuck CD, you need to remove the top cover then remove the screw holding the eject motor. You'll need a T6 screwdriver for the screw.

Lift the motor up just enough so you can get a finger on the edge of the white plastic gear wheel (arrowed red) then turn the gear wheel clockwise until the CD comes out.

As you turn the gear wheel, the metal tab (arrowed yellow) should move to the left and the CD should start to come out. You can only turn the gear wheel a small amount at a time, so each time you need to release it, hold the tab so it doesn't spring back then turn the gear wheel a bit more until the CD is out.

BTDT.
Open up the CN+ and switch it on while holding the CD still. After three failed readattempts the CN+ will spit out the CD.
Than burn the CD again (apparently on a different CD) on low speed and try again.
Good luck.

What u mean open the cn+ while holding cd still u mean ,how can i do that pls explain , and what tool i need to pull out cn+ out of the dashboard

Dobro Jutro,

To pull the CN+ out of the dash you put some long M4 bolts in the holes of the CN+. After that you unscrew the top and you'll see the actual CD. Hold it still with your finger and turn the CN= on. It'll spit it out after like 10 seconds IIRC.

Stilo Connect Nav+ (CN+) Firmware Update Procedure.

WARNING:It has been reported by some people, that carrying out the firmware update has permanently destroyed their CN+. This could possibly be because the procedure was not followed correctly, or because the car battery was partially discharged. Before proceeding, decide whether you really want the update, and that your battery is not discharged.

Here's a link for the version 9.8 Update disc. You will need to burn it onto a good quality, blank CD-R at slow speed.
[ame="http://rapidshare.com/files/276572663/CN98.ISO.html"]CN98.ISO.html[/ame]
This is the Update procedure:

NOTE: Some information stored in memory will be erased once this update starts.

You must follow the instructions exactly as follows:
  1. Remove the SIM card then switch the ignition on (DO NOT start the engine).
  2. Once the CN+ has fully started, clear any error messages using the “ESCAPE” button.
  3. Remove any map or music CD then turn the CN+ off using the “ON” button.
  4. Once the CN+ has fully shut down, turn it back on using the “ON” button and clear any error messages using the “ESCAPE” button.
  5. Insert the Update CD and wait for the display to show “CD Error”. Clear this message using the “ESCAPE” button.
  6. Turn the CN+ off by pressing the “ON” button.
  7. Remove the ignition key and then wait about 30 seconds.
  8. With the ignition key still removed, switch the CN+ on using the “ON” button.
  9. The Update procedure should begin. DO NOT switch the CN+ off during the procedure. The update may stop for a few moments a few times, this is normal. When completed, the blue FIAT logo will appear on the screen and the CD will be ejected automatically.
  10. Remove the CD then switch the CN+ off using the “ON” button.
If the update procedure has been successful, when you switch the CN+ back on, it should show 9.8 in the bottom right hand corner of the blue Fiat screen.

NOTE: If the update procedure permanently hangs at 50%, or does not complete successfully for any reason, you will probably now have a corrupted flash and a completely dead CN+. It has been reported that pressing buttons 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 then “TEL” will flash all the front panel lights twice and may allow the update to resume. I have never needed to try this, so I don’t know if it works or not. Your only other option though, would be to send the unit to Magneti Marelli in Italy for repair, or to replace the CN+.

After you've updated the firmware, the language of the CN+ will have reverted to Italian. To change the language, you will need the Setup disc.

Here's a link for the Setup disc. You will need to burn it onto a good quality, blank CD-R at slow speed.

This is the procedure to change the language:
  1. Switch the ignition on.
  2. As soon as the CN+ starts, insert the Setup CD and allow the CN+ to boot up normally.
  3. Read and clear any warning messages using the “ESCAPE” button.
  4. Press "SETUP" then "LANGUAGE" then choose your language.
  5. Highlight “OK” then press “ENTER” to accept the new language.
  6. Read and follow the warning messages as appropriate. When complete, press “ESCAPE” to clear the final message.
  7. Eject the Setup CD.

The flash has probably got to the stage of erasing the current flash but hasn't written the new one. So your CN+ is probably bricked.

Burn a new CD from the file I've linked to above and try again after you have the current CD out. I've used this file to flash several CN+s.

Hey mate, sorry to say but at this stage it seems like your unit has died and gone to Fiat heaven. Flashing is a very (somewhat unnecessarily) risky process on most consumer hardware, the risks of which are not emphasized enough usually. Unless there is a way to do a hard reset I don't see a way of you getting it back. Try re-burning the CD on lowest write speed and try again.

Just a couple of years back I followed the instructions to flash a very expensive digital mixing desk, used exactly the right software, etc. The flash program hanged and the desk was gone. It was an extremely expensive repair that had to be done by the manufacturer. The unit needed a whole new 'fader brain', not just reflashing!

I would start looking for a replacement unit ASAP. Don't beat yourself up about it, I'm a tech myself and it didn't stop me doing the same thing.

Like I said: Been there, done that and I have the T-shirt to prove it.

Burn another update CD on the lowest possible speed and flash the software again.
Mine worked.

Ok when u been there done that tell me how did your cn+ stoped flashing , with my it was all going fine till 15% Then in half second "boop" it souded like that and unit turned it self off .

Did yours also stuck in updating mode as my is with cd in , every time i start it flashing starts again and after few sec screen turn it self off then unit is on for obout more and it turns off completly.

Can't remember the details cause it was like three years ago, but it did stop at a certain moment and was absolut stuck like yours. Flashed it with another copy and it works fine ever since. Did you burn a better copy yet?
Do not try the same one over and over again. I may have even downloaded the software again.
Anyway... I'm just trying to help. Don't bite my head off.

It's normal for the update to stop for a few seconds several times during the progress of the red bar. At 50% it can stop for up to 3 or 4 minutes.

Which version of the firmware were you trying to update to?

OMFG i did it i downloaded new software with new link davren provided burned at lowest speed with imgburn , gone in car and same thing nothing was happening flashing starts and it just quits after few secs by it self .

Then i turn key to mar and while cn+ was turning on before flash process quickly press 3-4-5-6 and TEL and omg flashing started and finished i was like  it finished fine and its now on 9.8 firmware .

Huh yestarday was most nervbreaking day of my life i think i will never ever attemp to flash cn+ after this thank u davren and A3jeroen i could not do it without u :worship: , u saved me allot of money (y) :). :slayer:

The same thing happened to me.

The solution is actually

Many Thanks
