I'm currently away visiting family and doing a lot of running around in my Stilo (2.4 abarth selespeed). My engine management light has come on. I know it can be a million and one things wrong with it but thought i would try on here. There does not appear to be any loss of power or performance but i need to get home on friday so hubby will look at it when its light tomorrow. The EML came on once before months ago but it went off and never came back on. Any thoughts?

3 hours drive? Get the fault codes read so you know exactly what it is before you leave as you may cause irreparable damage.

hubby checked it over before he wanted to get the diagnostics done and found a loose wire on the battery. repaired it, EML went out and has been no problem all day

So a loose connection, but no loose-connection-warning...

Engine management light

OK, an age old question but have run out of ideas. Every now and then, the engine management light comes on. Have checked everything and found nothing wrong and there is no change in the performance of the car. Have even thought it might have something to do with dampness, given the rubbish weather. It all seems very weird and wondered if anyone had come across this where there is no known explanation for it. Maybe we have missed something?

Did you get the fault codes read? as suggested the last time you had the same problem last year.

I reckon it's worth checking the maf sensor and connector. I got intermittent engine management lights, then it got wet and it stayed on permanently until I swapped it out.
