I was wondering if anyone might have an idea what is wrong with our car.

It is an 06 plat Fiat Stilo Multi Wagon 1.6 Dynamic and has done just over 78k miles.

For some time the enginge warning light has been coming on, usually when going around sharp corners/roundabouts. If we top up the oil the light goes out and the car runs fine. The oil warning light nevar comes on though.

More recently this has been happening more frequently. The car also tends to shudder when accelerating usually between 30 and 40 miles per hour and in 3rd/4th gear for a few days before the engine warnine light comes on and this stops again when we top up the oil. Again, no oil warning light.

We park our car in the same position at home all the time and there is no visible oil leak from the car on the driveway.

We have recently moved house and have to use a new garage that we have not used before so it would be good to have an idea what the problem is before we put the car in anywhere for repair.

coil packs, throttle body condition, dicky crank/cam sensors, map sensor

ideally you need to get your codes read when the MIL is illuminated. whereabouts in the UK are you? theres plenty of members up and down the country with the software to have a look for you if you ask nicely
