I have and I loved the colour of your Anthracite Claws.

Mine were actually enamelled rather than powdercoated. This meant they were a little more resistant to curbing. They were done by a friend of mine who is by trade a stove enameler. He's in Lichfield, not too far away from you. If you ever decide to go for it, let me know and I'll get you his number, he'll do you a good deal too :)

Owen.

I've just had a phone call from the guy who transferred the Goodyear F1 Eagles(GSD3) onto the Claws.

Someone he knows wants to buy the tyres off me, offered me £250 for them.

I can get a brand new set of Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric II for £410, should I sell?

So, I called the guy last weekend, he wants to use them on his BMW for track days/drifting and stuff, he's given me £250 for my old GSD3's and I've just ordered a brand new set of Goodyear F1 Asymmetric II from MyTyres.co.uk

Happy Days ... :D

Nice (y)

Am i correct in saying that they have now stopped making standard eagle f1`s? and these are the replacement series for them?

Yes, the F1 Eagle GSD3's are still brilliant and still being made, they're just not sold here in the UK as some idiot decided they don't suit the weather we have here, safety issue. They're still available in the US ..

The Asymmetric II's are supposed to be the same tyre but with a tread pattern more suited to the uk, I'll let you know how they compare to the GSD3's ..

Had the Asymmetric II's on for about a week now. Had hot sunny days and cold wet days(typical british weather).

Q. So are they as good as the GSD3's in the dry?

No, I don't think they are.

Q. Are they as good as the GSD3's in the wet?

Yes, easily as good, if not better.

Q. Would I recommend them to someone?

Yes I would, they're not the cheapest of tyres but they're certainly one of the best I've tried. Although they're not as good as the GSD3's in the dry.
