Stilo 1.4 Active, Corsa SXi or Ibiza 1.4?

Girlfriend has a 1.2 80 Bravo and looking to upgrade to either of the above, I think she should go for the Stilo 1.4 Active, she has been offered a 1.2 Stilo 2004 Model, are these any good or is the 1.4 a better bet!!

Any tips greatly appreciated!!

Re: Stilo 1.4 Active, Corsa SXi or Ibiza 1.4?

I dont think there is much difference in it between the 1.2 active and the 1.4 active apart from the 1.2 has the 6speed gear box and slightly less BHP! I have driven my old der 1.2 active and its a great car, not quite fast enough for me! but is has pretty good economy!

My 1.4 Active has 6 gears & 95BHP also. Definately the biggest car of the Corsa & Ibiza.

Go for the 1.4 stilo m8 (if you can afford it upgrade it to active aircon or active sport)

No the skyroof is the only type of sunroof on the stilo i believe.

The active sport is the 1.6. Is it a 3 door or a 5 door you are after?

DEFINITELY not the Corsa!

The Ibiza's not a bad car, but its not Italian though so I'd say the Stilo too

Ignore the corsa cos the brakes are absolutely crap always have been since they introduced it!

The ibiza wont let you down cos it is a VW but its a bit boring!!

So im with everyone and go for the stilo

I wouldn't go for the Active Sport personally, yeah it looks better, BUT, it is only available as a 1.6, which generally a lot of owners seem not too impressed with, its only slightly more powerfull than the 1.4 and much less economical.

As for stilo Vs Corsa Vs Ibiza, consider that with the stilo you are getting a car of the next size category up

Re: Stilo 1.4 Active, Corsa SXi or Ibiza 1.4?

1.2 Stilo is loads better than 1.2 Corsa, I drove both before getting my Stilo.

If you've got to have AirCon then get the 1.4, if you don't want that other Gimmick to go wrong then get the 1.4.

Mind you i had a 1.4 Fiat Idea and i thought the engine was a bit rough sounding and feeling, mind you quite torqey!

Re: Stilo 1.4 Active, Corsa SXi or Ibiza 1.4?

I've got a 1.4 active 3dr as apart from many small (but still a pain) build problems I am happy with it. It is fantastic on the motorway and it quick when pushed. It also scored better customer satisfaction than the ibiza and corsa in the recent auto express survey. The 1.2 ibiza is meant to be better than the 1.4 ive heard. Someone on this thread mentioned that the ibiza would be reliable because its a VW, this is a myth! The polo came out not far from bottom in the AE survey. Stilo all the way!

Youre right that 1.4 is a shocker, 0-60 in 13.2 secs (even worse with the Fabia) The Ibiza didnt get marked down for reliability in that survey, it came 51st place in that category so isnt too bad. It was its ride quality, braking, comfort and practicality that let it down.

In the JD Power survey, the Stilo came 120/124, the Ibiza came 97/124 and the Corsa came 91/124.

Ever thought about the Fabia???- This came 7th in AE survey and 4th in JD Power
