Morning all, I need some sound technical help asap please, I have just found out the turbo on my 1.9JTD Stilo is kernackered... and when removing turbo pipe from top of engine we have found fine swarf in the butterfly - not good - we then removed pipe from turbo and found lots of the jolly black stuff sitting in pipe... explains the smoke I have been seeing in my rearview mirror for the past month!! Strangely enough the car has still been going like a train until yesterday, simply refusing to tick over when started.
This morning we removed egr valve still wouldn't start, disconnected turbo pipe from top of engine, started like a dream, reconnected it wouldn't start - air starvation from turbo seemed answer then we found oil in pipe etc etc

So, before committing lots of green stuff to a new turbo it seems a good idea to do a compression test on cylinders to check swarf has not got in and kernackered those as well!!! does anyone know what the compression reading should be on one of these???
Also anyone got good recommendation for recon turbo pump??
