cant see anyting relating to HG anywhere in the guides
what engine do you have ill have look for torque settings for you.
preparation is everything get all the parts/tools before you start the last thing you want is to realise you dont have something and have to wait for it to be ordered
measure the valve clearances BEFORE you strip it down and that way (if you need to) you can order the correct shims from fiat in advance
get hold of a cam locking kit for the timing setup
lap the valves in
replace the valve guide seals
lay all the buckets, shims and valves out on a labelled piece of card prior to sending the head of for skimming and to enable easier reassembly
have some way of identifying any hoses you remove to ensure you dont miss anything (you could use masking tape and numbers, or tippex numbers as long as it makes you remember it doesnt matter... ive used small cable ties before to identify hoses)
rub the block mating face down with some fine (200/400 grit) wet and dry be sure to remove any crud that accumulates, maybe put a rag down each barrel to ensure no grit gets down the side of the pistons. cleanlyness is key.
take your time, if you feel yourself getting stressed walk away for 10 mins and return to it once your calm
make sure everything is so clean you could eat your dinner off it. but dont forget to smear engine oil on any moving parts when your rebuilding.
i leave the engine oil in whilst doing the work and drop it before you put the rocker cover back on... then i pour a 'gerry can' of derv over all the cams whilst the cover is off and let it all drain off whilst your putting it all back together, this will flush any particles of crap from the sump that may have fallen in whilst doing the head work
