And would a 2002 1.2 stilo headlamp or headlamp motor fit my 2003-04 1.6 ?

The headlamp alignment motors for all Stilos with normal filament bulbs are the same. The motors for original Zenon HID headlamps are different.

The picture in the link you posted above is a wiper motor, not a headlamp alignment motor.

I have a problem with the n/s headlamp. Car failed MOT due to alignment. I took it to a garage and they said the motor is on all the time so they can't adjust the beam.

They then quoted me a staggering £278 to sort it out!!

I've read a few threads on this forum about headlamps and it seems jammed ajuster motors are fairly common, but I am confused as to whether the motor is part of (inside) the headlamp or whether it is a separate part. If it's part of the headlamp I could get one off Ebay and probably replace it myself and save £200+ Which would be nice!! If it's a separate part, where does it fit?

The car is a 2004 1.4 four door.....IF it is a matter of simply replacing the headlamp, could I buy any headlamp unit made from 2002-07 or would I need a specific type for my car?

Thanks.

Differences:
- 3 and 5 door.
- Xenon / standard
- With or without fog/curvelight

Check what you have and choose wisely from the alternatives above. (y)

I had a similar problem and overcame it by disconnecting the motors in both lamps and adjusting them by the two white nylon screws on the rear. You need to remove the front bumper to remove the headlamp assembly and it's self evident from there.

because its not fixing the problem. its just unplugging it... what happens when you have someone in the rear seat or something in the boot and you cant dip your headlights?

Gettin a new car soon anyway. New ford focus. Never have ne one in the back! And if i did then i would use fog lights instead of dipped which i used to do coz the hids were positioned incorrrctly (one tto the sky and one to the floor)

it is since january.

however if there aligned correctly id still say you wont get any bother passing a mot....

also the foglamps wont make a difference.. as the rear lowers through weight the foglamps will still raise and blind drivers as there set with the same height cut off point..

either way just align your headlights and spend the pennies for a new motor.

I was driving around for about 2 and a half months just with fogs on no one flashed me! Lights have been corrected by mot station. I will have a new car in 3 months! So it wont effect me neway. Will be the new owner.

Tis indeed the case, my Stilo just failed its MOT on the NS headlight motor which I expected to happen.

Thankfully being in the parts business was no problem for me to replace and only paid for fitting.
