Hi all I have just been to my local car parts shop to get my new bulbs and nearly bought some but the guy asked me why don't I go for the upgraded ones as they will fit ( d2s )
So the question is this, will they fit?
He said that they are better than the d2r ones and give off mor light but they use mote power.
I thought I should ask first as I don't want to melt my headlights or the wires.

So what ones should I get, there both £75 for a pair

The locating notch on the base of D2R and D2S burners are slightly different. You may be able to force fit them but that could seriously alter the beam pattern.

Also, D2Rs are designed for reflector lamp housings as in the Stilo headlamps, whereas D2Ss are designed for projector lamp housings. D2Ss don't have the metal or ceramic shield on the glass vial which could also alter the beam pattern.
.
EDIT: If you get them, could you let me know what manufacturer is printed on the box and on the bulb base, and also whether they are "E" marked.
.

Well in that case I will just buy the d2r ones as I don't want to brake anything. Well I am going to try the ones off eBay firs for £18 as i think it's stupid paying £75 for bulbs. So if they eBay ones brake then at least iv tried that option, but then again they might work and be really good.
Will buy them off eBay now and will let u know after I try the

As I posted on your other thread about this:

Beware of buying cheap D2R burners, I bought a pair from an eBay seller (may have been the same seller as in your link) last year and although the listing said E4 and CE classification, when they arrived, they weren't marked at all. They said they would "try to find" me a marked pair but never did. I fitted them anyway and the beam pattern was all over the place, I threw them away and bought a "Ring" branded pair for £86 (Normal price for D2R burners is over £100 each).

To get the correct beam pattern, they have to be manufactured very accurately with the metal mask in exactly the correct position on the glass vial.
