150 Mjet 25600 miles theres no loss of fluid but the pedal keeps losing pressure it will pump up again to be able to change gear but dosent last very long. Not very successful with search any ideas anyone.
 
Garage bled the clutch this afternoon and it stayed pumped up so its being left there see if its still ok tomorrow. Hope its alright otherwise its a gearbox out job to renew slave cylinder.

Its not the same as petrol its a Concentric slave cylinder and its inside the clutch housing it has the thrust bearing attached to it. The pressure was still there at lunch time today so it seems Ive saved a few hundred pound.

Its back to the drawing board pedals losing pressure again to the point I cant change gear unless I stop and pump it up. Its not leaking so there must be fault in the concentric slave cylinder, looks its gonna be gearbox out job ouch.

When you gain access to your concentric slave cylinder then you'll see that is leaking, not by much, but it doesn't take much to lose all pressure.

It's a really dumb idea to have the slave cylinder inside the gearbox, many cars are the same now including the new Mini. With an external slave cylinder then it's £50 for parts and 30mins to change. With the concentric slave then it's £100 for parts with 4 hours work and £250 garage bill for access alone
 
You say it will be leaking a bit so could it get on to the clutch plate? I hope not or that will be more money. I think if theres anything else goes prematurely like that the car will have to go as nice as it is to drive.
 
@Deckchair5 when installing a new slave cylinder in the gearbox, should a silicon be used ?

eLEARN says to use silicone sealant on the mating surfaces between the cylinder and the gearbox, but I can't see any reason for doing so. The gearbox input shaft oil seal should prevent any leaks from the gearbox.

It looks very dry inside your gearbox except for the dark band around the inside edge where the flywheel would be. If that dark band is oil, then it would have to be coming from the engine rear oil seal to get to that position.

Rear oil seal is now new, the oil is from gearbox, not engine oil.
And it was coming from the slave cylinder, now there is a new seal + silicon.
