Hi all
I have been offered a abath selaspeed for very little money. Its in good condition with only 69k and a new cam belt.
It was driven to its current location and left ( it was driving fine back then )
However when i tryed to start it, it would not run as it should.
I put in some fresh petrol and connected a slave battery, it would start then in 5 to 20 seconds stop. It shows gear box fail, alarm fail and lose conection!
No gears could be engaged. The engine would die as soon as you touched the accelerator pedal. Then for no apparent reason it started to idle well, but you could not rev it up.
You could engage the gears and drive slowly about.....Then i shut it down and started it again. Suddenly it would rev just fine and i could dive it up and down a farm track. It was great! no messages on the dash.:)
But when i turned it off and tryed to start it again i was back to square one:bang:
Please help because otherwise this car will be scraped, its to good for that:worship:

Thanks ill do that.
Is there some kind of reset for the electronics?

If it burst in to flames ill take some pics and post them!!!

no, a manual abarth/ schumi is great. Just the sillyspeed. I drove an alfa with it on and found it too jerky on the changes. Big pity as i could see the potential. I guess 10 years more experience with the semi auto gearbox will/should have perfected it.

Not just anti sillyspeed as vw group cars have big probs with the dsg ecu. Cars are getting enormously complicated machines.

**Arsonist surely? Lol! Or do you know for a fact he has more than 1 wife? :p

LOL... a bigot is what I meant...:D lol (lets keep it banta ;))

I agree, this high end Stilo breed should have never been fitted with a cheap tiptronic gearbox, it simply should have never happened as we see today what the outcomes of such an idea have done.

holy heck. Two people on the forum from both sides of the jtd/2.4 arguement actually agree on something.

cool.

Ballack, i see you are selling your schumi to get a multijet. Good man:)

We made a little bit of history I suppose, farmers are becoming more friendlier now days mind you... :p

I use to be on the noisy tractor side of the Forum a while ago :D bad times have made this sale come around, no multijet for me im afraid, too expensive for a decent one in my budget, i need a banger for now (n)

you need a banger. I know of a cheap 5dr jtd coming up for sale.

Sorry to hear that you are having to sell your schumi. You will bounce back, hopefully into a schumi GP next

Mate I made the same wrong choice a while ago, went for a cheap stilo diesel with high mileage and ended up with more than I bargained for, if like many good people on this Forum you know how to fix the probelms then your laughing, I believe I learnt more about that JTD then I ever did of this 2.4 lol thank you for your words tho (y)

Will be sorry to see you go Ballack. Thanks for all your help on the forum.

(y)

And thank you for all your help too bud, I will still be here mate, just without the best Fiat ever made...
