Ignition coils....

Just had an ignition coil go on me - after a quick search it seems to be a fairly common problem with the abarth - anybody else had this problem? After reading some posts I was wondering if it's always the same coils ( no 2 looking left to right).

What pi$$ed me off the most though was no fiat dealer had one in stock - me and the AA man tried 6 different dealerships in the localish area and not 1 had one in stock - not impressed!!!! Now got to wait till monday while they get one in!

Re: Ignition coils....

Mine managed to get one in next day - miracles do happen!

It was only one, though - imagine if TWO had gone at the same time

Re: Ignition coils....

2.4 Abarth model - what I was curious about is wether it's the same one on all Abarth's as Stu mentioned no 4 but were you reading left to right or right to left? Anybody know where I can get a cheap spare one as well to keep in the Car in case it happens again - a genuine 1 but not at rip off prices from fiat?

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Ignition coils....

I don't think they are that expensive to begin with - £35 or so, although this may need to be confirmed. I think my replacement was a Bosch one.

No 4 was given to me by the AA man, so I presume there is a correct way to read this.

Re: Ignition coils....

How about having the cylinder numbering convention numbering from the front, of the engine block (the opposite end to the gear box). Then no matter which way your engine is put in we all know which cylinder we are all talking about?

Confused
