You can download firmware version 9.8 from here:

Or version 9.9 from here:

And the Setup CD that you'll need to change the language back to English after doing the update here:

[ame="http://rapidshare.com/files/276567596/CN_Setup.zip"]http://rapidshare.com/files/276567596/CN_Setup.zip[/ame]

They will need to be burnt to seperate CDs.

It's a known problem with the CN+ that voice directions for distance to turning don't coincide with actual distances. For example the voice will say "In half a mile turn right" whereas the turning is only 50 yards away. This is only occurs if the dashbord is set to miles. Set the dashboard to kilometers and the distances are more accurate. The problem is partialy solved with v9.9 firmware.

hi all, i have just checked the car now and on the fiat screen it sais that it is 9.8.
so what would you suggest?

9.8 is what most people use and is perfectly adequate. The only difference with 9.9 that I've noticed is the more accurate spoken distances, but is it worth the risk of updating? Several people have corrupted the flash when updating and totally ruined their CN+. :eek:

yer it gets me to the rite place every time never let me down yet. but its just annoying that it sais go off on the junction when the junction is rite buy you, as in sais it last minute.
just wanted to know really if it was worth re setting my nav with with the 9.8 or would it make no difference??

i will keep what i got, easier than trying to fix it and it might brake.
so is the 2010/2011 map disk more responsive than what i have now???

As your map disc is 6 years old, updating it would probabely be a good idea as the UK's road network has changed a lot in the last 6 years. You will find your self driving through a field at some point(according to the Nav+ that is).

yes true. the only problem that i find with it is that you cant enter postcode`s. or can you.
i have tried putting city postcodes in and it finds it no problem but as i live in wales it doesnt find anything lol ha ha.

I was under the impression that the Connect Nav only recognised postcodes for London, but then I've never tried it for other cities. Whenever I have used London postcodes it's incredibly slow to set a route so I just use the town and road name.
