Yesterday I removed the EGR for cleaning.
I then noticed an unconnected wire lying across the back of the gearbox. The car has been running ok so perhaps the wire is for some electical accessory that my model doesn't have fitted. Of course I am interested to know what its for.
The best description I can think of is; A very thick wiring loom travels from the battery-side across the back of the gearbox. At a point approximately under the EGR or Preheat unit, the Loom splits into 3 - (1) is a slightly thinner but still considerable loom, (2) is a thick red coloured wire, maybe starter-motor, and (3) this unconnected wire. It's a black wire with rectangular 3 way female connection. It has the metal U shaped, pop-fit, locating/locking clip. It isn't long enough to reach up to the pre-heat so it can't be part of that. Anyone recall this wire?
