Saggy seat = Bad Back :(

My 3 Door has the saggy drivers seat problem and its killing my back, the pasanger side is fine and feels much firmer and does not have the saggy material - Is it the foam under the material that causes the problem?

I have found that sitting on an old sweatshirt pushes me up in the the right seating position so Im assuming the seat is sagging and thats why my back kills me no matter what position I set the seat too (and trust me I have tried them all).

I rang the Fiat warranty people and they said only the seat frame is covered under warranty not the material including the foam, I know a few have had this problem in their 3 Doors, Just wondering how to get to the bottom of it (no pun intended), I assume I will have to get the seat base changed - Any idea how much?

I have to do something because my back can not take it any more, If It can not be sorted the car will have to go, which will gut me as I love eveything else about it and will cost me a lot as I have only had it a couple of months (its not really an option tbh).

3 Door saggy seat owners - HELP

Why don't you try those beaded seat covers you get from Do-it-all.

Sorry mate just kidding. You might find an upholsterer's will be able to help as I believe they can get different grades of foam.

Re: Saggy seat = Bad Back :(

try adjusting the seat base, pump it up to a higher setting! I know loads of folk on here ride on the lowest setting, but i just can't get comfy at that setting, as the seat back has a big gap at the bottom then. I have my drivers seat set to pretty much the same hight as the passenger seat.

17,000 miles and i can't tell any real difference in compairing the seats, and the passenger seat is hardly ever used!

Re: Saggy seat = Bad Back :(

Hello mate, I had a seat problem which to their credit, Fiat replaced under warranty. I actually complained about the right drivers thigh pad showing wear and also the material seemed loose. I find the seat comfortable but I suppose i'm lucky that it suits my shape! Good luck with Fiat, I have learnt from experience that they will act in the end, they just need a gentle bit of hassle first!

Re: Saggy seat = Bad Back :(

I had mine replaced when my car was 6 months old with 4500 miles on the clock, three weeks later it is booked in to have another seat base because of sagging again. Im sure that within a couple of months it will need another one, there is clearly a design fault that Fiat cant be arsed to fix! I only weigh 10 stone, not like im a heffer or anything!

Yeah I found a retrimers in Oxford who said they could do it - Prob is I need to get the car there to get a quote during the working week .... I think I may just get it done - Then if it goes again I can take it back if it goes again.

Re: Saggy seat = Bad Back :(

I've been having this peoblem for a long time. I first noticed that if i drove for more than about an hr my lower back hurt like mad, then the seat foam on the right side of the seat seemed to start breaking down. It's so bad now that the metal bar under the right thigh area is clearly visible.
