Mobile phone cradle installation

I have an 04 Stilo Abarth and was wondering where the best place to mount a mobile phone holder was? I saw a pic on another thread of a phone cradle next to the indicator stalk - mounted on the dashboard. I know you can get a kit from dashmount.co.uk but the one I orignally bought mounted the phone down near the passenger's knee - fat Jim kept smacking the cradle causing the phone to fall into the footwell

Does mounting the phone in the recess next to the indicator stalk involve drilling (something I don't want to do in a car a year old)

Thanks........................................

Is your abarth non-selespeed? You should have a phone built into the satnav.

Oh well. As for fitting the holder for your phone why not just stick mirror pads to the back of the holder save you drilling anything.

Don't think it's standard on the manual

What about one of those proclip no holes brackets?

Yep, the manual Abarth is seriously lacking in the toy department.

Why not just use a bluetooth headset? I do, and rest phone in the cup holders.

re: Mobile phone cradle installation

Good solution ta, but I just like to keep my car in ship shape fashion. I was toying with geting a PARROT bluetooth car kit (mutes stereo etc) and thought that a decent holder would round it all off nicely. I won't loose sleep over it.
Sat Nav is an option on the manual Stilo btw
Cheers guys

A proclip bracket doesn't require any holes to be made.

re: Mobile phone cradle installation

i made my own car holder - get a piece of metal, bend it to how u want it and pop it down the side of the radio (bent behind it to keep it firm) and screw phone holder on to it

buy a mute lead from www.bluespot.co.uk - job done!
