Hi guys, the 1.6 is giving me some trouble atm

a few weeks back the battery failed (down to just under 9volts after a 24 hrs charge) - the faults were constant on the car, abs, cat, camshaft, etc etc etc.
anyways i cleared all the faults after getting an new battery and the car was running fine with no faults for about a week.

Anyways, it seems every few days she is now throwing a camshaft sensor fault (over voltage or something like that) and lighting the engine fault light.

fiatscan ecu is showing it as a stored fault but not currently present,
im suspecting the camshaft sensor is at fault now, the belt was changed about 2 years back so it isnt that.
is there any way to test the sensor and most of all where is it on the engine?,
is it a case of just purchase a new one on these cars when they thow a wobbly.
cheers
roy

What's the actual fault code as over voltage just on the cam sensor is pretty much impossible

cam angle sensor 3.JPG
cam sensor is up here

ive got it written down but they are in the car, and the car is off in southend atm,
thanks for pointing out were the sensor is, like you i was confused when it said over volt, it may just be a set default on fiatscan ecu.
i will order a new one and probo change the cam belt whilst im in that area.
when she gets home i will put up the error code
cheers

Which engine? 1.8 16v is behind the exhaust
cam wheel.

Not a simple job as you need the cam lock kit
and be very careful not to damage the sensor
ring on the cam wheel when locking it and unlocking
it.
