Hi first time poster so please bare with me. Recently got an 02 Abarth selespeed and wondered whether the "jerky" gearchange during auto mode is usual for the selespeed cars?

Also, the Connect+ SATNAV does not seem to catch any satellites. Any ideas why?

And oh yes, I have an airbag error. Got rid of it for a while but it has come back ( after my kind passenger slammed the door ). To play and wiggle with the wires unnder the seat, do I have to disconnect the battery or can I get away with not doing that?

Last thing I want is to disconnect baterry and have more errors/issues.

Advise would be invaluable with this issues. Apart from these car sounds awesome!

The gear change isn't the smoothest semi auto i've driven! The lack of satellite lock might be the aerial or connection? There is a service menu that gives you the details, have a search for tha.

The airbag does sound like the connection, take apart, clean, and take securely!

Yeah the selespeed is a bit jerky, I very rarely have mine in full auto as you have to drive it quite hard to make it change up, in manual you can drive a bit more economically and make the changes a bit smoother the more you get used to it.

Sounds obvious but have you actually got the sat-nav disk in the connect+ ?

Thanks for the replies. I found the service menu last night. The GSM bits show as green if that makes sense. I still get no lock on satellites. However I dont know if it may be related but the SATNAV CD I got with the car is for an Alfa 147. Does that make a difference? And the Connect software it at version 8.3 ( quite old ). Does the Abarth have Connect or Connect+ ??

For the airbags, I take it I have to disconnect the battery before taking the orange connector apart that is under the seat?

Hi
Ok situation is as follows. Updated Connect+ to 9.8 and now have original SATNAV cd ( 2008 maps ). But still not working. Everything else on the Connect+ works. Radio, CD, even when I put in a SIM card it recognises network etc.

Can someone shed light on why only navigation wont work? I thought that the bee-sting antenae works as both GPs/GSM. If this is so and SIM works why not GPS?

Its driving me nuts having a nice color TFT screen that doesnt do a major part of what it should!

Have you activated route guidance on the main navigation screen?

There should be a tick in the box next to Activate RG.
