The drop link is item #4 in this diagram. Turn the wheels to full right lock and try to shake the top and bottom of the link. If you feel it moving and hear it clunking, it needs replacing.

Cheers Davren. As always Genius with the Diagrams. Appreciated. Sounds like metal Rattling, almost as if something has broke off and rattling around somewhere.

There's a bit more info in this thread.

Always best to do them in pairs. Be carefull not to scrath that Rolex while your replacing them. ;)

Muchós help Shadey. I'll make sure i take the Rolex off, can't damage the baby. Wait it says 'Rolux' on the dial... Oh Dear.

As the drop links are only sub-£15 a pair inc. delivery and they are VERY easy DIY fit, and if the car's history is unknown OR has done a fair mileage since the last change ... I'd suggest that they would probably be worth replacing as a matter of course.

Here's a video of the American model Stilo, showing the symptoms to look for when the droplinks get a bit worn (& also when the electrics need a Poxy-Alignment with FES) ;) :-

Cheers. Think thats what I checked. Is it connected to like a joint at the wheel? Sorry for being a noob.

Having them changed by a mechanic mate. Even if its not the culprit wont do no harm.

Yeah. Theres no play in it, but it does look like its not sitting right. If im looking at the right thing.

Will take a pic on dinner @ 1. So will post about 2.

Ah right. Yeah it does look a little off centre, but I guess this is normal. Hmm, would there be noticeable play if it was broken? Because it feels solid to me. However, I do have exxcessive body roll turning left so something isnt right

Worth checking the small rubber 'bellows' that encapsulate the joins at either end of the drop links. If they are split, all the lubricant leaks out and the joint goes dry and noisy.

I have some rattle in the front and I too can't figure out where this is coming from. Wishbones are new and OEM, droplinks too. I suspect it could be the stabilizer bar’s bushings cause they seem kind of old and cracked but no idea really. If it’s really noticeable I would say it must be the droplinks cause I had a big rattling noise coming from the front before and after I changed the droplinks it almost went away, but I can still feel some play when going over small bumps. I think it’s the steering cause my steering wheel is slightly off to the left.. and when I make a full right lock the left tire rubs in the plastic undercover of the wheel arch, don’t know what that’s called.
