Does anyone know the size/type of nut that locks the track rod end to the steering arm (the rod that comes out of the steering rack) on a Stilo 1.4 16V. One of mine is rounded off but they are not supplied with replacement track rod ends.

Why not remove the nut off the other track rod and take it to a bolt and tool suppplier for a match?

Do what I did and find a bolt that goes into the new track rod end and then find a nut that fits that bolt. I have one seized on the car on the adjusting rod so I'll be grinding that one off and fitting new

It's a very coarse thead of 8 tpi and nut inside dia of 0.4" (10.2mm)
Nut size across the flats 21mm
I think that'll be a metric size 12 coarse thread

My local ironmongers. steel merchants didn't stock it and they normally have everything. Metric coarse is pretty useless and just used on wine bottle openers and for gold diggers winding wedding rings on Hugh Hefner when he's asleep etc

eper shows the nut coming as part of the track rod part, so no separate nut by the looks of it from FIAT. It says it's the same part as our JTD - I had quick measure with calipers on ours and it's 14mm across the rod thread, so M14.

It's easier to measure the external rod thread than the inside of the end. Unfortunately, it's impossible to get a good reading on the thread pitch without the wheel off.

Best to measure across 3 thread ridges and then divide by 2 (to minimise any errors) to get the pitch - looks like 1.5mm or 1.25mm to me, which is metric fine pitch type, but you need to check. They should be high tensile grade 8.8 or higher.
