Veh Identification card & Set up Disk for Sat Nav

Hi

Can anyone help me with the above.

My 5dr abarth has gone in for service today. I enquired about the VIC, but the fiat dealer cannot supply one, any ideas on what we could do?

Also somebody has kindly offered to send me sat nav disks, but how do I get hold of set up disks for languages as the dealer doesn't have them either.

This dealer is starting to get on my tits, heehee!!

Thanks, you guys are the best

Mrs D

Dealer getting on your tits - don't worry, you'll get used to that [:(!]

The ID card seems to be somewhat of a mute point. If I recall correctly, when Stilos enter this country, said cards are removed from the car. The reason has been cited as having something to do with a request from insurance companies. I'd like to see them explain the meaning behind this. The relevant mechanical and electrical codes are stored on the much-vaunted "International Security Register" and your dealer can obtain them from there. He may well try to charge you, not having bought the car from them.

As for the setup disk, I'll happily copy you mine and send it to you - email me your address to neil@nemesis.nu and it'll be in the post to you.

Matrix, unless you're going to Caledonia Fiat's service department (they're on Bury New Road just off the top of Deansgate) then you're wasting your time. The guy on the desk, Ben, knows his stuff. He'll really look after you.

Which service was your car in for? My 12000 mile service cost £110 last year and I've just had the 24000 mile service which cost me £140.

Hi Jon

The service was the first one (12months) and it was priced at £100, but had to pay £60 to have the warranty re-instated, grrr!!

I clocked on the board that the next one due is £250, maybe i misread! hope so (yikes)
