Hi All

I Buy about 2 months ago Fiat Stilo and my key fob was working fine! in last 2 days time key Fob Stoped working! i think is battery issue so i changed battery for DL2032!!! But Still no working light on Fob is flashing but nothing happen... I find also on this forum the correct battery should be --> CR2032 or CR2016

Do you think when i installed this DL2032 battery fob should working if light comes up?

BTW: I Don't had any message on the dash indicating that keyfob battery is running low

What you think??

As key fob was working before but not after you installed battery then i'd check key fob battery voltage. Should be 3v. Key fob warning light simply says it has some kind of power and is in use but not a lot else.

Could try disconnecting car battery for an hour or two to reset everything and then let it try again. A big change in voltage as with a new battery tends to scramble output signals. Try the old battery in the fob again too as long as it is enough to power the fob and the car may recognise it as an old friend

I was in Fiat in my city, they told me copy of my key with central locking will be cost about 400 pounds ;/ there is any chance to get cheaper ? or program this key with new batery?

If you are in the UK it shouldnt cost that much. I was quoted £200. However there are a few threads here regarding getting the car code for free and buying second hand keys and getting them programmed so its worth doing a search for key related issues.

you was quoted on 200 ? for Key that cheap! but i was in dealer ( fiat ) in blackpool and menager told me 1 key with central locking cost 400 pounds, reprograming cost 65 pounds...

Btw: i was search on forum but i cant find:

How to get --> Car code for free
( on Ebay.co.uk i can buy second hand keys for my stilo ) <--- This is not the problem :)

There is any tread on forum how to program Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v Active 2002 Key manual or something ;/

BTW:

put key in ignition turn to on position and wait for a couple of minutes for code reset to occur.could be battery you have put in is faulty if it has been sitting on shelf for a while

I going to try this...

Fiat Denkale West London. I actually have a printed quote from them for £199.99. I had already paid them for the car code separately as they had tried to program a key I already have but it didnt work, so that price was to supply and program the remote key fob. If they are quoting you £400 they are taking the p***, I would ring around to other Fiat dealers as it does seem to vary. They will probably charge you about £35 to get the code if you dont have it already but there is a way to get it for free under the data protection act. Someone here told me about it and I think I still have the email.

No I going to do it now, i will disconnect battery for hour till 6pm.

I have tried this advice what you give in post 2, key is still no working

You tried the old battery back in the key fob?
How many remote fobs do you have?
Do you have a laptop and OBD2 car to laptop interface?

Choices are to go to Fiat dealership who will reprogram car to accept key fob or attempt to do it yourself with laptop/interface and Fiatecuscan registered software but you'd need to find out car code
