I am the bemused new owner of a 2003 stilo jtd with its own idiosyncratic dashboard

the airbag failure is nearly constant - I am ignoring it but tomorrow will try the anti corrosion advice offered elsewhere on this forum

on my old peogeot disconnecting the battery (to fiddle with the airbag connectors) would have meant losing the radio code...but as it just hisses at me anyway it is no great loss just now - thoughts on reinstating the radio welcome also

the engine light (light on rev dial showing tiny engine) goes on for at least 15 minutes when i start up but seems to calm down then

and now - my main question....a new symbol on the right hand (speedo) dial immediately below the airbag light keep has started flashing briefly and occasionally. it is orange but never stays on long - certainly not long enough to take a picture...or try to work out what it could be...

I have just purchased a manual - but no key to warning lights. Does anyone know if there is a place I can see a labelled photo or picture of a dash with the warning lights labelled:confused:

Any help much appreciated

the orange light showing up "ocasionally" is on only when some1 is seating on the passenger seat. that means that in case of frontal inpact the airbag will blow(that only if your airbag system works properly).

These are the warning lights for the Stilo.

You can remove the battery without needing a radio code (or my car has mad skillz and remembered it ) One of the two :).

If its the original factory fitted stereo the computer will have remembered the code, but if its an aftermarket unit I dont think it will, however there are sites where you can download a code generator for certain brands so you should be able to get a code quite easily. If its only hissing you may want to take it out and make sure everything is connected right at the back, perhaps the antenna cable is loose.

Airbag light could be the sensor in the seat so if checking all the connectors doesnt resolve it try and get a diagnostic cable and connect it to a computer, it should tell you which airbag is causing the issue, in the case of my sons Stilo it identified the sensor in the front passenger seat as the culprit.

Hope that helps a bit!
