i have a 1.9stilo jtd starts up first time no problem runs great for 5 mins, then it loses power and feels like its running only on 2 cylinders, and theres a bit of smoke, this lasts about a min then she runs ok again.only seem to get the problem 5 mins after start up,does anyone have any ideas please.thanks.:bang:

Could be sticking open EGR that clears after a while (strictly speaking it shouldn't engage on a cold engine but still worth checking).

Might be worth checking fault code (see free software in stickies at top)

Where is the map sensor to the engine 1.6 16v MAP

Your original problem is unlikely to be connected with heater plugs.

Why didn't you test them first

did check them had a fault with number 3 so changed them all for the hell of it.

If you found a REAL fault then very unlikely the heater relay is also faulty.

Have you checked the big red 50A supply fuse (behind battery) ?

So the end result was? Y don't no body ever end a post with 'its fixed, it was the bla bla bla,,, I'm sorry if it looks like I'm just having a rant, but I've read a lot of them with no results, just saying it would b nice to just find a thread with what sounds like the problem I've got and find a solution,, but it's like they find out Wats wrong with there's and just don't go back on the forum till the next time or people just get board and don't reply,,,,, car still won't start, only bump n runs fine, done alot, no fault codes???

But still if there was a solution in the end ' which obviously there was' and had posted it on the forum, it wouldn't mater how many years ago it was lol,,,
