Re: Stilo Xenon Headlight

Not legally without fitted the rear axle and sensors, front suspension sensor, all associated wiring and ECU(s) and front bumper with the headlamp washers.
.

Just curious, if somebody fits original Xenon`s without ECU and sensors, the car will show errors for the missing parts?
Same for the missing fog bulbs, I understood that they are not present anymore for HID headlamps

Thanks

I doubt it, as the car cannot tell you something isn't fitted if it was never fitted in the first place, and front fog lamps I believe are not on the bulb failure warning system.

weridly, i have headlight washers but no xenon's

me too, I think it was an option present on Dynamic version, called winter package. I also have heated seats and heated windscreen washers.

back to topic, if I want to install original xenon, is there an additional ecu, for sure? I can't find it in elearn, which says, I quote:
The left headlamp is the Master control unit while the right acts as a Slave unit. The master downloads the dipped beam command, car speed and - to manage the function - signals from two sensors (potentiometric) on the wheel axles that manage front and rear ride.

HID headlamp ECUs are in the aluminium box on the back of each headlamp. As it says in eLEARN, the left ECU is the master and the right ECU is the slave. It's the same whether it's a left or right hand drive car. Master ECU is always the left one.

Is that not the ballast or is it built all in one

Sorry, but I kinda don't get it.
If I look in elearn, it says in the diagram that the front and rear sensors should wire straight into the HID ecu (master).
I see no other connector except the main yellow
I think it should be logic that the sensors should be linked to main ecu which in turn sends the data to the HID ecu

Am I correct?
There is only 1 connector per each headlamp?

thanks

The left headlamp has two connectors. The normal round one for power and earth connections to the bulbs, and a flat 6 pin connector for the 3 wires from each of the 2 self levelling sensors.
