Re: Stilo Heater

I'd be interested in the outcome of this too, I have exactly the same problem with the climate control on my Stilo JTD. Passenger side works perfectly but the driver's side will only blow cold.

If it were the pollen filter, it would affect both sides equally so I don't think that can be the cause.

I suspect it's going to be something to do with a flap or actuator motor within the heater casing but it doesn't bother me enough yet to start pulling that apart.

Dave.

Re: Stilo Heater

Hi All
I have had this problem for some time now I found if you keep fiddling it will eventually start working.
The best way I found so far is to set to mono and run the temp to cold then back to hot switch off engine restart do the same again, bit of a pain but mine seems to work O.k. most of the time now.
Good luck.
P.S
I also noticed that the driver’s side foot well vent actually diverts the air up under the dash, so I cut the fins out works o.k. now.

Re: Stilo Heater

I think it's called the tempreature control flap which will be your problem.

It's a b**tard to fix as you have to take most of the dash out to replace it, dealer tried fixing it me by gluing it on for £96 broke again after about 1 week.

Re: Climate control - cold air only on drivers side?

Grrrrr seems like my poor stilo is falling apart slowly lately. Now that its getting cold here and i start using the heat i have the same problem the drivers side is cold and the passengers is fine. i tried to do the relearning process but doesnt really work only if i turn off the car it fixes for a bit. Also noticed that last year i would put the heat to 20-22 and got decent heat not too much now to get the same mild heat i have to put it to 26. Very weird stuff.

Re: Climate control - cold air only on drivers side?

Well, Stilatos. Mine has now the same problem. Cold air isn't coming at all. The clutch engages, but the only way of getting outside temp (which now is pretty low) is to set it to "lo". No aircon though, despite the snowflake is on. This is a problem as the car fogs down when all wet and damp people enter the car.

The problem has occured a couple of times earlier, but then it has only needed a restart. Now it is permanent. Where is this flap everyone is talking about? We have lefthand driven cars so it might be easier for us to access the area, but I really haven't done more in that console than refitting the pollen filter - which is a doodle, as there are no obstaclin' pedals.

Or is it an electrical issue with this flap? The fan works like hell, so the fault is most likey after the fan.

Can someone point us in the right direction? I will not dismantle any dash!

Morten.
