Why pay £4.99 each for them from an eBay seller when Fiat price for them is £1.80?

Fiat have a very strange pricing policy for spare parts, but it's always worth checking them first.

As an example - Years ago, I bought a slave cylinder repair kit from Fiat for my old Croma Turbo for £22. When I dismantled the cylinder to fit it, the bore was scratched so I need a new complete cylinder. That was only £18.

More recently, I needed a headlamp washer pump for the Stilo. I don't remember the price for the pump, but the price for a complete new washer bottle including headlamp washer pump, windscreen washer pump and new tubing was only £3 more.

Was a bit cheaper when I got those clips a year or two ago if memory serves, in fact I think were something like £1.something plus postage when I got them.

I actually avoid the dealership whenever I can really (hence why I now use an independent these days) as that service department employ some of the most unhelpful, obtuse people I've ever met. I remember I needed a bolt which ended up costing me a few pence from an iron monger, the service department told me I'd need to spend £12 or something to get a pack of 20 as they didn't normally keep them in stock singly, which was helpful. That and the dozen or so other run-ins that I had with them over the years over things

Best example being the last time I went there and ever will go there, the CV boot extravaganza, which is in my lovely review of my local dealer... https://www.fiatforum.com/garages/199961-arnold-clark-fiat-citroen-paisley.html

My nearest dealer is Denkale West London http://www.dealers-fiat.co.uk/detail.php?id=44. I think it used to be Desira. I have used them from time to time over the years I have owned Fiats and they have always been very helpful and efficient, just expensive.

Last time I was there I learned that they sell on all the old company cars used by directors and board members, who drive them for maybe six months then get a new one. This place sells all the used ones. They had some good deals there too.

I guess it's "luck of the draw", my nearest dealer is Ancaster in Welling, Kent. I've dealt with them and their predecessors (San Siro) for over 20 years and always found them to be very helpfull. They stick to Fiat recommended prices for parts, unlike some dealers, and have even lent me special tools when I've needed them.

Yeah, I do get the feeling I was unlucky from the get go with that place and Fiat aren't the worst overall these days anyway apparently. Guess the one I got lumped with falls into the extreme negative area of customer service.

Hi. Can someone please fotograph the clips in their position so i can learn how to place mine? I bought a pair of these and after 15min trying i couldnt fit them.
