Hello

Been learning alot about servicing selespeed on Alfa forums.

They raise a question.

The push rod distance on alfas selespeed should be 28.5mm (on MAR, engine off). Any value much outside of this causes selespeed to be lumpy, hard, not smooth.

Is our selespeed distance the same? I figure DeckChair probably has the answer as always :)
For example, mine is 15mm which is way off, supposedly.

You can read it on FIATECUSCAN under "Clutch Pedal Position"

I would go to the FiatEcuScan forum and ask Yani directly re the software clutch calibration figures. There's other Alfa boys there too who can help you with comparisons perhaps between Alfa and Abarth selespeed systems

Thanks

So you think there may be different readings from software to software? that can be arranged.

I was more worried to know what is the stilo selespeed push rod default distance.
I dont find this info anywhere :\

I might have more problems than you guys think! My selespeed seems to struggle holding the pressure!

- When I open the door: Pump goes on for 10 seconds.
- I turn the key to MAR: Pump goes for an additional 7 seconds.
- FIATECUSCAN reads: 52bar
- After one minute: 46 Bar
- After two minutes: 40bar and pump turns on two seconds up to 52bar
- Every two gear exchanges the pump activates for 2 seconds
- Push rod distance with engine off: 15,604mm
- Push rod distance with engine on: 5mm

What more tests should I do?
The End line calibration finishes ok.
Never had gearbox errors or warnings.
The ride is smooth.
Gears exchange normally except 1st to 2nd when cold.
Randomly there is a vibrating noise and clutch releases with lots of hiccups. Possible worn clutch wheel bearing.

here's my model:

My god this is so difficult.

I've contacted everyone, lots of companies, fiat and all. Nobody knows the push rod distance for stilo abarth.

This is mind boggling. :(

Does anyone know, I think we have all seen the post

At some time everyone here with a Selespeed will need to adjust the clutch release rod on the actuator if you sevice the car yourself. Now I've searched the forum and there is no guide, so today I shall demonstrate and SHOW you where this adjustment is made and how it is measured.

1, Load up Examiner or Alfadiag and select the "Selespeed" ECU, connect and then go to the "Sensor" tab, in the drop down menu select "Clutch Adjustment Position" and check the position on the graph. If it is outside of 28 - 28.5mm then continue, otherwise your done.
