Technical Climate Control - airflow issue [broken actuator?]

Hello guys, I have a question... My air con doesn't direct the air to lower (feet) area. Now , although eLearn procedure for getting to those cogs/motors seems too challenging for me, I was wondering would it be possible to somehow manually open stuck vent flap? It wouldn't bother me that much if at least some air would come out through those floor vents.

Thanks in advance =)

I also have no air on my feet area, I checked all actuators on drivers side (lhd) no broken pieces so I cleaned the actuators with contact spray and put the motors back. This cleared 2 errors but now I get feet/vent flap (description is something with "impossible flap position") I reset my system but nothing... Maybe one of the gears rotated when I placed the motor, or the actuator rotated after I cleaned it. Who can help me with this? Where to start and which motor is for the feet/vent?

Re: (yet another) Climate Control Problem

Thanks for the detail and photos. I'm going to try this on my daughters '08 Bravo. Do you have the part No of the shafts? Cheers

Hi.

I forget to feedback to everyone about my climate problem.
So it is solved. :):slayer:
The solution need lot of time but at the end it is giving good result.
First of all it is necessary to check that is there any mechanical problem what you guys mentioned in the previous threds.
I checked everything and everything was fine.
So I disassebled every of my servo actuator and cleaned this potentiometer:
http://piher.net/sensors/index.php?...page.tpl&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1
Just remove it and put into some alcohol. Turn it a few times while it is in the alcohol and than remove it and wait. Put it back and it will work.
It is good idea to measure the resistance before and after the cleaning to see the result.
The problem is that the potentiometer loose its linearity and the climate control unit can't process this. I think because of this basicly its loose the zero point really often. I think I have a few picture about this so if I find those I will share it.
I tryed to buy new potentiometers but I got that answer from the Hungarian distrubutor that the minimum order quantity is 15.000 pcs. :)

So I hope it helps a bit to somebody.

Greetings. Gábor.

Anyone knows where to buy those potentiometers? Been searching but havent found success...

If Davren's option is not working out for you and you aren't worried about 100% OEMnessity, you can take a look at this Aliexpress article:
5PCS/LOT PIHER automotive air conditioning resistance sensor 4.7K resistance FP01-WDK02 model sensor
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/cC7qs7tB

It hasn't arrived yet, so maybe it's totally useless for us, Stilo owners - but it's not a fortune, so I thought I might give this a try...

Have you tried the ones from aliexpress? Do they work fine? I heard someone around here saying that they work on 4.4K instead of 4.7K..not much of a difference but still..

Unfortunately still haven't received anything, but don't worry, I will report the results immediately when these stuff will finally arrive. Btw, I didn't even put back the big side plastic, because I thought soon I will have to tinker with it again. Unfortunately I still have to wait a bit more or I don't, because my package is lost. :) Anyways, I will keep you updated!

These ferrules are also available on eBay ,iv fitted them to mine and they work

i paid around 10€ each at my fiat dealership, no shipping costs and it was available on the next day...doesnt seem like a great deal if they are ordered from ebay (the plastic part cliffy71 said, havent found the potentiometers anywhere else other than aliexpress).

I might give it a try too then, tired of having to change my AC between summer and winter modes manually...

Nice to finally hear that!! Where did you buy them? Aliexpress?

I received mine last week and put one in the RH drivers side.

I could not get the module out (the screws are behind the metal frame) so I just popped the cover off the module and installed the new sensor.

Seems to be working fine so far, now I just have to do the other side...
