The message was before 8-9 days, and now it disappeared , so it was maybe an reminder, but now all is normal, without service due , all is ok.

It is normal. You'll get reminders from around day 30.

After you reach 0 days, you will get the reminder more often. Nothing to worry about.

Solution: Reset service light at the delaer.

Hit the "menu" button and flip until you reach the "service" option. Hit "menu" again. You will now have the option to choose days or kilometers left (or miles if your car has got left hand steering). On mine I've got either (after a reset) 20.000 km or 365 days. 365 days goes faster than 20.000 km so at mine right now I've got 25 days and about 10.000 km. You can't choose what suits you best - the car automatically chooses what goes first.

There is no service light on the Stilo, It's simply a written warning on dash

Nope. Just displays 'Service Overdue' on every start up.

Since this thread refers to Stilo services..

Have had to drive to Nice at short notice (flight got grounded) almost 2K miles.. and guess what..
it was Sunday.. car was due a service in 2 weeks.. was going to change to a dif oil so none of the Selenia left.. and you can't buy it on a Sunday (dealer or online only?! yuk) topped uk with Shell ultra (gm silver bottle 5w40 with extra cleaning agents).. Car ran perfectly at 80 mp/h (a day there and back) but at idle it now feels like 2 tractors playing a tug of war (previously it was just the one tactor plowing a field). No faults no error codes (this car will have me in tight robes and padded rooms before long! :bang: Please! suggestions :worship

You'll need the ELM cable for that. I'm going to reset it this weekend. The cable is right here at work, as I've just been at the post office. The VAG cable will do all the other diagnostics.

ah thx! you saved me buying a kkl cable (have 5 yr old elm327 v1.0, that didn't work, obviously & kkl is way cheaper than elmscan). Another Q then.. could the old circuit (made/holding a v1.0 chip) be used with a 1.3+ chip (i.e. any hope of upgrading just the chip? It’s cheeky of them not to provide firmware updates)
 

Re: tractor tug of war (more details): power’s sweet, running @ speed is perfect 2k miles with a passenger and full boot @ 80 mp/h = 37.9 miles per gallon (it’s a 1.8 & getting back was mostly uphill)
