I think the GT tag came from way before the car was released and either Fiat or the Press labeled the manual version the GT before just setteling on plain ol Abarth, plus when I went to look at the insurance costs most of the insurers had it listed as the GT .... even tho there is no such thing unless you get a 1.6 / 1.8 GT or the JTD MJet GT in Italy. but in adverts in UK for the manual Abarth you will see it listed as the GT as well.
