hi i wonder if anyone could help me i have a fiat Stilo 1.9jtd 2002 and the accelerator pedal does nothing no response i have tried 2 other accelerator pedals a new ECU and key and it still the same(car did not start with old ecu, faulty pins) the car starts now but i cannot drive it its just idles
and i have these errors when i used fiat ecu scan 2.1:

the ECU is a BoschEDC16 CF3/EOBD Diesal Injection

P0608 control module vss(1) fatal light on
P0120 tp sensor switch(1) fatal
P0101 mass air flow(2) fatal

could anyone point out to me what all the above is and where they are any help will be appreciated.

I had a similar problem when adding a tuning module to my JTD. When the module was connected, the engine would default to an idle setting - I cannt remember which error codes it created. Removing the module restored the engine. It was connected to the common rail manifold sensor at the back of the engine, next to the EGR valve. I'd check the wiring connectors on yours to see if its damaged or dislodged, it might just be a bit of corrosion although the connectors are pretty good in terms of protection - they're a bastard to get off though!! theres a little yellow locking tab that needs to be pulled up before squeezing and pushing the connector sideways to release. Good luck

Control module VSS would indicate a ground wire not connecting. Check for corrosion on earth points. There is a black block full of earth connections on the flitch, beside the battery. Take it apart and see if it is corroded.

give the EGR valve a sharp tap..

if it improves.. it's probably choked with carbon soot.:yuck:

a friend had this on a SAAB - same Engine as Alfa.;)

going to look at it in the coming days..

Thanks for the reply.

I sent the car to the electrician, all wiring was reviewed and he said most likely it was the BSI as he found a few not so good solder spots there.

Never the less, i also replaced the Linear Pressure Switch.

The car has been running fine without any signs of problems since.

Cheers
