My three button key fob it a little battered and I saw this on ebay -

It talks about needing to program it

Surely I should just be able to take mine apart and place in innards inside the new case and it all work fine?? - or have I missed something crucial like the key fob wiping itself if you open it or something.

Yes that's correct. Innards and blade, the whole works and don't forget to swop over the immobiliser chip too
